Prior to establishing
www.AndrewM.com, Michalik founded
Voice Information Systems, Inc., (VISI) where he
successfully sold his own award-winning commercial
products, which included a graphical audio editor,
batch-processing tools for digitized sound, and English
language text-to-speech engine and a DPMI multi-threaded
computer telephony hardware driver library. He was
recognized by CT Magazine for Product of the
Year and CT Expo Best of Show in 1998. Prior
to that, he received CT Magazine’s People of the Year
Award in 1996 and Product of the Year in
1995. In 1992, he was the recipient of the Editor’s
Choice Award. VISI continues as one of the few
companies that provides tools to the computer telephony
industry throughout the world.
Prior to founding VISI,
Michalik held positions with several companies, among
them TRW Space Division, Tektronix CAE Systems Division,
and Raytheon Electromagnetic Systems Division. Among his
responsibilities in these positions were project
leadership, interactive database and networked systems
design, hardware design, technical management and
programming.
Michalik holds a
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers
University, and a Master’s Degree in Computer
Engineering from the University of Southern California.
In 1982, he was the recipient of the TRW Fellowship
award. His extensive programming background and
knowledge dates back to 1974, which includes some
unusual mini, mainframe & legacy hardware and software
systems.
He was a Founder of the
Internet Professional Network in Southern California and
prior Advisory Board Member of the Association of
Internet Professionals. A resident of Santa Monica,
California, he is an avid reader and enjoys philosophy
and real surfing. He is active in martial arts
and aspires to earning his black belt in JuJitsu. |
