To Whom It May Concern:

Mr. Andrew Michalik was employed by Micronix Integrated Systems, Incorporated as a consultant for the design and layout of a Floppy Disk Controller large scale integrated circuit. This design was implemented on a 1500 gate 3 micron silicon gate CMOS gate array manufactured by Universal Semiconductor Incorporated, San Jose, California.

Mr. Michalik's responsibilities included: converting customer logic into standard macrocells; logic simulation and design debug utilizing a SIMUTEC digital simulator; generation of specifications for the LSI; producing final schematic artwork, bonding diagram and customer design package; placement and routing of macrocells; execution of ECAD software to correlate layout versus schematic; and customer interface.

Mr. Michalik's design was carried out in a very professional and timely manner. The software and design techniques were well executed producing an area efficient circuit. The first lot of devices were tested to meet specification and were accepted by the customer. The circuit is now being readied for volume production with no engineering or masking changes.

It was my experience at Micronix that Mr. Michalik is a mature engineer. I strongly recommend him for designs of this nature. If in the future the need to utilize consultants to handle our design overflow arises, we will seek to enlist the services of Mr. Michalik.
